Yesterday, FCA US LLC announced in a press release that the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, the recently released minivan that has delivered more than 30 segment "firsts" in just one model year, has garnered yet another accolade, this time in the form of a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Safety Rating from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The 2017 Pacifica earned the NHTSA's highest rating in each of the crash tests. The innovative minivan was also recognized for the availability of the following "recommended" safety features.
- LaneSense Lane Departure Warning-Plus: (Warns the driver if it senses drifting, and applies steering wheel torque for corrective action.)
- ParkView rear backup camera
- Forward Collision Warning-Plus: (Uses radar sensors and cameras to detect impending collisions. It can even apply the brakes if no action is taken.)
Previously, Pacifica also earned the highest possible rating of Top Safety Pick+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
