Tradesman and HFE Trim Models
The Tradesman and HFE are the two initial trim levels of the 2020 Ram 1500 that are offered. With the lowest base price, these models set the core features and systems that are worked into each other trim model. Both bring in a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine as standard while the Tradesman can be optionally enhanced with a more powerful EcoDiesel V6 or HEMI V8 engine. The Tradesman also comes equipped with a full Uconnect multimedia system housed on a 5-inch touchscreen with a six-speaker sound system as well as keyless ignition with a push-button start, 18-inch wheels with a solid steel composition, trailer-sway support, and additional storage compartments with the Crew Cab setup. The HFE trim model is more tapered to be your streamlined work truck, with a longer bed with Quad Cab format, larger 20-inch wheels complemented with side steps for easier access, and bucket seats in the front.
Big Horn and Rebel Trim Models
The Big Horn (aka Lone Star) and Rebel are the next trim levels offered with the 2020 Ram 1500 and take the features found with the Tradesman while building in some more utility and comfort. In particular, the Uconnect multimedia system gets some available improvements, with optional 8.4-inch and 12-inch touchscreen sizes being offered. The 12-inch touchscreen is massive and comes equipped with split-screen capability so you can run multiple applications simultaneously with ease. There is enhanced connectivity too, including smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Rebel is particularly situated to improve on the already capable 1500 bringing in a slew of off-road-oriented features such as a tuned suspension, electronic locking rear differential, and underbody skid plates to help protect the vital systems of the 1500 while venturing off-road.
Laramie Trim Model
The Laramie trim takes a good number of the features brought with the Big Horn (Lone Star) trim and makes them standard, such as the larger 8.4-inch touchscreen that still is offered with an optional 12-inch size as well. The multimedia system can also be further enhanced with a wireless charging pad, premium audio system, and an improved Uconnect software package. The seats can be optionally fitted with leather while also being power-adjustable, and heated/ventilated. The Laramie trim also can bring in other additional optional features, such as rain-sensing wipers, automatic high beam support, a power tailgate release, 60/40 split-folding seating, and driver-assist technologies including blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and a ParkSense parking support system. Packed under the hood of the Laramie trim is a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine, that pushes out immense horsepower and torque while coming optional with a mild-hybrid eTorque technology.
Laramie Longhorn and Limited Trim Models
The Longhorn and Limited trim models offer the highest in luxury that you will find in a pickup truck. We see a lot of the optional features brought with previous models being made standard on top of having a spray-in bedliner, leather-wrapped steering wheel accented with wood inserts, and a multitude of interior/exterior styling elements. Both trim models come standard as in a roomy Crew Cab configuration adding in more rear passenger space. Coming optional on most other trim models and standard with the Limited trim is Ram’s new four-corner air suspension system, which generates a smooth driving experience. The Limited trim also can be outfitted with an equipment package, bringing in the 12-inch Uconnect touchscreen, a surround-view camera, automatic high-beam support, an advanced ParkSense automated parallel/perpendicular parking system, and other driver-assist technologies.
