2019 Dodge Charger Performance Lineup Announced
The Dodge Charger is bred for performance! As the only four-door muscle car on the American market, this sedan offers a slew of ground-breaking features and equipment that other vehicles just can't compete with. Dodge has reconstructed the Charger lineup for the 2019 model year narrowing it down to six impressive trim levels infused with massive attitude and outfitted with performance upgrades that send them sailing past the competition! We're bringing you the latest information about the new Charger models so keep reading!
SXT
Starting off the 2019 Charger lineup for the 2019 model year is the base SXT trim level. This model is built with solid construction to protect the passengers found in the incredibly spacious cabin. Under the hood, you will find the standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine mated to an automatic eight-speed TorqueFlite transmission. Together, this powertrain produces 260 lb-ft of torque and 292 hp. The SXT model gains new equipment and features for the new model year. They consist of electronic stability control, a capless fuel filler to keep you smelling fresh, three 12-volt power outlets so everyone can stay fully charged, cruise control, electric power steering, and automatic halogen projector headlamps with LED accents. There are also a ton more available features for the SXT trim level. They include a brand new Cold Weather package for those early bitter morning commutes, Houndstooth cloth sport seats, a Caramel Nappa Leather interior option, and a renowned Blacktop package for a more sporty and sinister look!
GT
The next trim level is brand new for the 2019 model year! This model is also powered by the standard Pentastar engine and eight-speed TorqueFlite transmission and they produce 264 lb-ft of torque and 300 hp. The GT trim level comes equipped with bolstered performance seats with a Houndstooth upholstery pattern, a striking Dark Dub plate instrument panel, enhanced steering with paddle shifters, race-bred chassis enhancements, a 3.07 rear axle ratio, a performance geared suspension, an 8.4-inch touchscreen equipped with Uconnect infotainment and Dodge Performance Pages, and two 20-inch wheel choice in Black Noise and Satin Carbon. The exterior of the GT comes equipped with a sculpted fascia and side sills, an enhanced spoiler, and a performance hood! SXT AWD Up next is the SXT AWD trim level. This model is equipped with an automatic and standard all-wheel-drive system with a front-axle disconnect and active transfer case. Both of these technologies help this engine reduce the powertrain's parasitic losses. Optional features for this trim level include the Cold Weather package, the sporty Blacktop package, Houndstooth pattern cloth sport seats, and Caramel Nappa leather interior upholstery.
R/T
The R/T model also gains some new features and equipment for 2019. We start to see the power underneath the hood kicked up with this trim level! Each R/T model gets a Hemi 5.7-liter V8 engine and TorqueFlite eight-speed transmission. This powertrain combination includes 395 lb-ft of torque and 370 hp. These features and equipment consist of Satin Carbon and Black Noise 20-inch wheel options, a performance geared hood, sculpted side sills for a more menacing and aggressive look, performance designed fascia and spoiler, Dodge Performance Pages, a steering wheel equipped with paddle shifters, an 8.4-inch touchscreen, the Dark Dub Plate instrument panel, a 2.62 rear axle ratio, a performance geared suspension, bolstered performance seats with a Houndstooth pattern, and augmented steering.
R/T Scat Pack
Next up is the R/T Scat Pack trim level gains an even more powerful engine! Under the hood, you'll find a 392 Hemi V8 engine this is naturally aspirated and comes matched to an eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. Together they produce 475 lb-ft of torque and 485 hp. Standard features include the Dark Dub Plate instrument panel, a new performance geared grille with dual air inlets, Houndstooth cloth performance seats, Launch Assist, Line Lock, and the iconic Scat Pack bee logo. The dashboard is equipped with a switch that gives drivers super easy access to Launch Control activation. Features available for this trim level include Adaptive Damping Suspension from Bilstein with three modes and a Satin-Black painted hood.
SRT Hellcat
The SRT Hellcat model is outfitted with the most powerful engine in the Charger lineup. A 6.2-liter Hemi V8 is paired with an automatic eight-speed TorqueFlite transmission and together they produce 650 lb-ft of torque and 707 hp! This powertrain makes the SRT Hellcat the most powerful, fastest, and quickest sedan in the entire world! Standard features in the SRT Hellcat that are new for the 2019 model year include Torque Reserve, After-Run Chiller, Line-Lock, and Launch Assist. These four technologies boost the performance of the sedan as they are inspired by racing! Additional standard features include new instrument panel badging, dual air intake inlets, and an enhanced grille. Optional features for the SRT Hellcat include a new Alcantara package, 20-inch Brass Monkey forged wheels, and a Satin Black painted hood option.
