2020 Jeep Wrangler vs 2020 Toyota 4Runner

Living in California means you have the opportunity to sunbathe on the beach one day, climb a mountain the next, go surfing, and then go for a bike ride. The warm weather and spectacular terrain are perfect for those looking to fully enjoy the great outdoors. To fully enjoy nature, though, you need a vehicle that can get you to all these places. We recommend you take a look at the 2020 Jeep Wrangler and the 2020 Toyota 4Runner. We've gone ahead and compared the two below so you can decide which is right for you.

2020 Jeep Wrangler Power & Handling

Jeep offers not one, not even two, but three engine options for the Wrangler. One of those options is even a new diesel engine that cranks out a wildly impressive 442 lb-ft of torque. The massive amount of torque makes rock crawling look easy. The diesel engine and the available turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine come standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The standard 3.6L V6 engine is available with either the automatic transmission or a six-speed manual transmission.

2020 Toyota 4Runner Power & Handling

There are a staggering eight trim levels available for the Toyota 4Runner and only one engine option. Every time you pop the hood of a 2020 Toyota 4Runner you'll find a 4.0L V6 that cranks out 270 horsepower and 278 lb-ft of torque. The 4Runner uses a five-speed automotive transmission to shift through the gears. The standard SR5 and Limited come with two-wheel-drive, while the other trim levels come standard with 4WD.

2020 Jeep Wrangler Features & Design

The Wrangler Sport kicks off the lineup and is available with either two-doors or four-doors. The four-door body style is known as the Unlimited. Every Wrangler comes with a fold-down windshield so you can see the trial ahead, removable metal doors, and a removable roof. There are several roof options for the Wrangler including soft tops, hardtops, and the Sky One-Tough Power Top that opens the roof with a press of a button. On Wrangler models you can expect to find heavy-duty brakes, electronic front and rear lockable differentials, rock rails, tow hooks, heated seats, a removable Bluetooth speaker, leather upholstery, and more!

2020 Toyota 4Runner Features & Design

Like we stated previously there are eight trim levels for the 4Runner. Those trim levels are the SR5, SR5 premium, Venture, TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, TRD Pro, Limited, and Limited Nightshade. All those trim levels are a lot to take in and don't necessarily add a lot to the features list of the 4Runner. On the base SR5 model, you'll find smartphone capability, skid plates, and a trick power-sliding rear window. The sliding rear window is intended to provide you with open-air freedom, but it can't compete with taking the top off of a Jeep Wrangler. Higher trim levels will get you black exterior accents, heated seats, a JBL sound system, and leather upholstery.

Conclusion:

Let's face it if you're looking for an SUV that can tear it up on the trails, drive on the beach, and cruise around town with the top down the only vehicle that can handle the task is the 2020 Jeep Wrangler. The Toyota 4Runner puts up a good fight but it can't compare to the off-road capability that the Wrangler has. If you'd like to take a 2020 Jeep Wrangler out for a test drive we hope you will stop by and see us here at DCH Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Temecula.
