What are the Powertrain Options for the 2021 Dodge Challenger?
Let’s talk about the real star of the show: the Dodge Challenger’s incredible powertrain options. The Challenger’s trim levels run the gamut from the base-level SXT all the way up to the behemoth SRT Super Stock, and that lineup includes a huge variety of engines and outputs. The SXT and GT trims start out with a 3.6-liter V6 engine, standard rear-wheel drive, and available all-wheel drive. The R/T trim level bumps it up to a 5.7-liter V8 engine, which is increased again to a 6.4-liter V8 on the R/T Scat Pack. The Scat Pack also marks a significant leap in output, jumping up to 485 horsepower from the R/T’s 372. Next come the beloved SRT Hellcat and Hellcat Redeye trims, both of which employ the 6.2-liter V8 and offer 717 and 797 horsepower, respectively. However, even these astoundingly powerful models are topped by the SRT Super Stock, whose powertrain has been specially calibrated to kick out a staggering 807 horsepower. This wildly impressive benchmark was made possible by increasing the Super Stock’s shift point to 6,400rpm from its previous 6,3000. All that horsepower results in a top speed of 169mph, and a quarter-mile run of just 10.5 seconds.
