What powers the 2021 Jeep Cherokee?
With the 2021 Cherokee, you get three powerful engine options. Most trims come with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that rips out 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque. If you go with the Latitude Lux trim, there are two engine options available. The first is a 3.2-liter V6 that kicks out an amazing 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque, and the second is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that gets you 270 horsepower while upping the torque to 295 lb-ft. All three engines pair with a smooth nine-speed automatic transmission. Most trims come with front-wheel-drive though you do get the option for four-wheel-drive. If you decide on the off-road capable Trailhawk, it will come standard with four-wheel-drive.
What are the features of the Cherokee?
Five trim levels are available for the Cherokee, and each has s ton of available features that fans are sure to love. The base trim is the Latitude, which has power front windows, exterior mirrors with a heating element, supplemental turn signals, courtesy lamps, a rearview camera, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Latitude Plus adds to this with heated front seats, premium-wrapped heated steering wheel, remote start, keyless entry, and push-button start. Need more luxury features? The new Latitude Lux brings it to you with Nappa leather seats, power front seats with power lumbar adjuster, and a windshield wiper de-icer. Off-road features are found with the Trailhawk as it has an advanced all-wheel-drive system, wider wheels and all-terrain tires, and increased ground clearance. The Limited rounds things out with leather upholstery, an upgraded driver display in the gauge cluster, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen.
Can you talk about the Cherokee's safety features?
While the Cherokee is one of the most powerful SUVs on the planet, you could also make the argument that it's one of the safest. Standard is the Blind Spot Monitoring System, which will monitor your surroundings for vehicles traveling in the opposite lanes. Included with this is Rear Cross Path Detection, which monitors the traffic coming up behind you. You also get a Forward Collision Mitigation System which will let you know if there is an impending collision and can even apply the brakes in specific scenarios. Finally, a Lane Keeping Assist System will steer the Cherokee back into its lane if it happens to drift outside the painted lines.
