Can you tell us about the Grand Cherokee’s trim levels?
Jeep offers the Grand Cherokee in seven trim levels. The base trim comes outfitted with tons of great features like dual-zone automatic climate control, rear parking sensors, 18-inch wheels, a 6-speaker sound system, a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple and Android smartphone integration, and keyless entry and ignition. The upper trims add a sunroof, larger touchscreen, a power liftgate, heated front seats, all-terrain drive modes, xenon headlights, leather upholstery, chrome exterior trim, a 19-speaker sound system, and more. The Trailhawk trim is outfitted for more extreme off-roading with an off-road-tuned air suspension, skid plates, and heavy-duty engine cooling. What about its engine options?
In total, there are four engine options offered for the Grand Cherokee lineup, all of which are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The standard engine, powering most of the lineup, is a 3.6-liter V6 that generates 295 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Offered for the Trailhawk, Overland, and Summit trims, is a 5.7-liter V8 that delivers 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. Powering the SRT trim is a 6.4-liter V8 that creates 470 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque. The last engine is a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that kicks out 707 hp and 645 lb-ft of torque, and it powers the Trackhawk. The V6 engine comes with RWD while 4WD is available and standard for all V8 engines.
Could you talk about the SUV’s safety features?
There are a host of safety features offered throughout the Grand Cherokee lineup to help the driver feel more confident behind the wheel. They include blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert that warns the driver of other vehicles they may not be able to see when changing lanes or backing out of a spot, parallel parking assist, forward collision mitigation that warns the driver of an impending collision and even applies the brakes if necessary, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning.
