Hybrid Mode
The default mode, Hybrid, combines torque from both the 2.0L turbocharged engine and the electric motors. This combination provides maximum horsepower, instant torque, and the best acceleration. Electric power is consumed first.
Electric Mode
When the battery has more than a 1% charge, it can run in Electric Mode. This allows for nearly zero tailpipe emissions up to highway speeds. The vehicle can run in this mode for up to 21 miles.

Regenerative Braking
This feature allows the battery to be charged when decelerating and braking. The Max Regeneration feature remaps the accelerator pedal to command more aggressive regen at low pedal positions. It allows you to slow the vehicle down without the brake pedal, but a complete stop always requires the brake pedal. It also stays selected until you turn it off.
Recharge
The battery can be fully recharged in approximately 2 hours using an available Level II charger (240-volt) or 12 hours using the included Level I charger (120-volt). With the ability to charge at home and work, you can enjoy the benefits of fully electric daily commutes.

What's the engine of the Wrangler 4xe?
Lifting the hood of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe reveals a modified version of the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder. This engine includes a plug-in and two electric motor generators. It has 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, both of which are wonderful numbers. There is a 27-kWh hybrid battery pack mounted underneath the rear seats, which are fully encased. This engine also provides you with a spectacular 25-miles of all-electric range and pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission. You can get the Wrangler 4xe with all four-door versions of the Wrangler.
How capable is the 4xe?
The short answer is the Wrangler is very capable! If you love off-roading, you will find a lot to love about the 4xe as it is straightforward to control as you climb and crawl over all those rocks in the wilderness, and you don't need to build up the RPM in your engine to get the Wrangler 4xe's wheels to spin. Want your Wrangler 4xe to go over different bodies of water? The Wrangler 4xe has over 30-inches of water fording, and the battery and all of the electrical components are safely secured while the air intake is placed directly underneath the hood. You also get a 4x4 powertrain, a Selec-Trac two-speed transfer case with a 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio, and next-generation Dana 44 solid front, rear axles. The Rubicon 4xe is in a class all by itself with a Rock-Trac 4x4 system, a two-speed transfer case with a 4:1 low-range gear ratio, Tru-Lok electric front, and rear locking differentials, and 33-inch all-terrain tires.
What are the features of the 4xe?
Three trims are available for the 4xe, known as the Sahara, Rubicon, and High Altitude. Each of these trims come with a ton of available tech and luxury features, including a removable top and doors, so you can feel all the open-air freedom that the Wrangler is famous for. Then there are the luxury and tech features, including 20-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, push-button start, an 8.4-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, and an Alpine audio system. Additionally, the touchscreen comes with the latest version of the Uconnect system that delivers speeds up to five times faster than the previous version. It also comes with hybrid pages.
