The Jeep Wrangler is a legend on wheels. In fact, its oldest ancestor, the Willys MB, has been credited by many historians with helping to win WWII. Pulitzer Prize–winning war correspondent Ernie Pyle loved the vehicle and wrote that it “Did everything. It went everywhere. Was a faithful as a dog, as strong as a mule, and as agile as a goat.”
Today, now three years into its latest generation, the Jeep Wrangler is an exquisite mix of classic military design and rugged off-road technology combined with modern safety systems and amenities.

Jeep Wrangler Engine Options for 2021
Power for the Jeep Wrangler comes in lots of flavors. Here are your choices for 2021:
- 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 - 270 hp and 295 lb ft of torque
- Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 - 285 hp and 265 lb ft of torque
- Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 with eTorque mild hybrid system - 305 hp and 260 lb ft of torque
- 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel - 260 hp and 442 lb ft of torque
- 6.4-liter 392 HEMI V8 - 470 hp and 470 lb ft of torque
- Wrangler 4xe PHEV - 2.0-liter turbo inline-4 plus two electric motors - 375 hp and 470 lb ft of torque
Note: all Wranglers are equipped with a 6-speed manual except for the Rubicon 392, which ships with the 8-speed automatic. For an additional $1500, all other models can opt for the 8-speed automatic. Four-wheel drive, of course, is standard throughout the range.
Jeep Wrangler Trim Levels for 2021
The 2021 Jeep Wrangler is offered in four main trims:
- Sport
- Sport S
- Sahara
- Rubicon
- Sport
- Sport S
- Sahara
- Rubicon
The 2021 Wrangler Sport comes with a 3.6-liter V6, 6-speed manual, 4-wheel drive, cloth seating, removable doors and roof and the Uconnect 3 infotainment 5-inch display. There’s no air conditioning, power windows, or door locks.
The 2021 Wrangler Sport S offers the amenities above including power windows, door locks, A/C, keyless entry, and several active safety options.
The Sport, Sport S, and Rubicon trims are available in both 2- and 4-door configurations, while the more luxurious Sahara is available exclusively as a 4-door.
The Wrangler also features special editions for the 2021 model year, including Willys models based on Sport and Sport S trim levels and the upscale Wrangler Unlimited High Altitude model.
The Rubicon trim is the most capable off-road Wrangler. It comes with electronic locking differentials, an electronic sway bar, custom off-road shocks, and 33-inch all-terrain tires.
Finally, a new Wrangler 4xe appears with a 2.0-liter turbo inline-4 and electric motors. It offers a combined 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque and an all-electric range of 21 miles.
