What's under the hood of the Durango?
Several engine options are available for the Durangos and each option is more powerful than the last. The first few trims come standard with a 3.6-liter V6 that gets you a solid 295 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque which pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The R/T trim sits in the middle of the pack, and it starts the range of the V8 engine options. This one is a 5.7-liter V8 that gets you 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque which will also come with the smooth eight-speed automatic transmission. Last but not least is the SRT, which uses a 6.4-liter V8 that pounds that pavement with 475 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. Rear-wheel-drive is standard, but all-wheel-drive is an available option for those needing a little more traction. If you decide on the SRT trim, all-wheel-drive is standard.

On the base SXT, you get a Blind-Spot Monitoring system with Rear-Cross Path Detection, which will monitor the areas behind and around the Durango so you can see the vehicles behind you and make safer lane changes. When you get to the GT trim, you have the option of a GT Plus package which gets you even more advanced safety systems, such as a Forward Collision Warning system that will alert you to a frontal collision and can even apply the brakes if you fail to do so.
