Meet the 2023 Jeep Wrangler in Temecula
The Jeep Wrangler continues to provide adventurers with legendary off-road capabilities while giving others a fun on-road experience. It gets a new Freedom Edition model for the 2023 model year with a military-themed exterior design. Also, for 2023, the Wrangler Rubicon has new 17-inch wheels, and the entire lineup gains some new exterior colors. Here's a look at some more details for the latest Wrangler.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The Wrangler comes in 12 exciting trims: the Sport, Willys Sport, Sport S, Freedom, Willys, Sport Altitude, Rubicon, Sahara, Sport RHD, Sahara Altitude, High Altitude, and Rubicon 392. The Sport comes with skid plates, tow hooks, and fog lights, and the Sport S adds alloy wheels, power-heated mirrors, and power door locks.
Choose the Rubicon for all-terrain tires, rock rails, and ambient LED interior lighting, or pick the Sahara for 18-inch wheels and fender flares. The Rubicon 392 sits at the top of the lineup with high-performance brakes and a 2-inch suspension lift. You can also choose from special edition models like the High Tide and the hybrid 4xe.
Engine (Power)
Jeep offers the Wrangler with several different engines. The base is a 3.6-liter V-6 that puts out 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. A 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder generates 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, and a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 gets 260 horsepower and generates an impressive 442 pound-feet of torque. A 6.4-liter V-8 for the Rubicon 392 generates 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, and the 4xe plug-in hybrid uses a combination of gas and electric power for 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
The Wrangler's base engine offers a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic. The rest of the lineup comes standard with the automatic transmission. Every model either comes standard with four-wheel drive or offers it as an option, and the Rubicon has an upgraded four-wheel-drive system and an off-road plus driving model to make it more capable.
Interior
There's room for four in the two-door Wrangler and five in the four-door Sahara. Cloth upholstery comes in the lower trims, and the Sport has a removable carpet and drain plugs. A leather-wrapped steering wheel comes in the Sport S, while the Sahara adds automatic climate control. The Rubicon 392 has the nicest interior with leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel.
Tech features include an available 8.4-inch touchscreen, USB ports, three 12-volt power outlets, satellite radio capability, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. Integrated navigation is also available, and you can get a premium Alpine stereo system in the Rubicon 392.
Safety Features
The lower-end Wrangler models come standard with a rearview camera, traction and stability control, and hill start assist. The Advanced Safety Group is available as an option for the Sport S and comes with automatic high-beam headlights, forward collision warning with automatic braking, and adaptive cruise control. You can also get the Safety Group with a blind-spot monitoring system, rear-cross traffic alert, LED taillights, and rear parking sensors. The Rubicon 392 comes standard with these safety systems and adds a forward-facing camera to help navigate over rough and rocky terrain.
