Jeep 4xe Charging Tips

The 4xe hybrid powertrain has three modes of operation, known as E Selec, that let you decide how and when to use your electric range. The driver can select the desired powertrain mode Hybrid, Electric, or eSave, via buttons mounted on the instrument panel to the left of the steering wheel. The best of both. Hybrid Mode combines the forces of the 2.0L turbocharged engine and the electric motor. This efficient combo provides maximum horsepower, instant torque, and impressive acceleration. In Electric Mode, you’ll emit nearly zero tailpipe emissions and feel the rush of instant torque every time you push the pedal. To help enhance the benefits of the E Selec modes, the 4xe powertrain offers Hybrid Electric Pages on the Uconnect system. The Hybrid Electric Pages allow drivers to monitor power flow, schedule charging times to take advantage of lower electric rates, and view their driving history related to electric and gasoline usage.

Thanks to icons on the center cluster and Eco Coaching through the Uconnect screen. Jeep’s Eco Coaching feature predicts the road and advises when it is possible to lift off the accelerator pedal to save fuel. The feature automatically activates when ECO mode is selected. In addition, the instrument panel displays the ECO coach icon to inform the driver the feature is active. As a result, drivers can easily track your overall battery charge and its effect on a pure electric range, gas range, and combined range. 

Among the most significant benefits of hybrid technology, regenerative braking reroutes power that would usually be lost back to the battery pack for later use. Jeep’s Max Regeneration feature remaps the accelerator pedal to command more aggressive regen at low pedal positions. It allows you to slow the vehicle down without the brake pedal, but a complete stop always requires the brake pedal. It also stays selected until you turn it off.

Take advantage of off-peak charging hours by scheduling your charging sessions. You can set up a charging schedule within the Uconnect Hybrid Electric Pages. Leverage the information saved in your driving history to figure out how much time you need to charge on a given day. Plus, if you opt for the available Jeep Level II PHEV Home Charging Station lets you spend less time charging your PHEV and more time on the road. The easy-to-use quick-release mount features a lockable, weatherproof enclosure for either indoor or outdoor installation. Plus, built-in Wi-Fi connectivity lets you control charging anytime, anywhere via a mobile app and web portal. Its intelligent grid optimization helps reduce energy costs by charging at low-rate times.
