In the past few years, the electric vehicle industry has become extremely popular! There are more options than ever when it comes to choosing an electrified vehicle, and there are so many benefits to making the switch. Two great options when it comes to electrified vehicles are the Jeep Wrangler and Grand Cherokee 4xe, which are plug-in hybrids with over 20 miles of all-electric range! The Wrangler 4xe has all the athletic capabilities of the classic Wrangler you know and love, plus a hybrid powertrain that employs both a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and twin electric motors connected to a rechargeable battery pack. Here at Temecula CDJR, we have an in-house service center where our team can help you care for your Wrangler 4xe. Jeep 4xe Service Schedule
A service schedule is a guide that helps you maintain your vehicle based on its mileage. This schedule is an example of how to care for your Wrangler 4xe! By following a service schedule, you can keep track of all of your vehicle’s needs, and ensure that you get the proper maintenance at the proper time. With the right care, your Jeep can keep working its best for years to come!
Routine Maintenance
Before we jump into the rest of the service schedule, it’s important to lay a foundation for your Jeep 4xe’s routine maintenance. An oil change is a great place to start, and your 4xe will have an automated oil change indicator to let you know when to bring your car in for maintenance. Aside from an oil change, you should also have your battery inspected, rotate your tires, and inspect the CV/Universal joints, brake pads, exhaust system, engine air filter, and door latches. These services can all be repeated each time you bring your 4xe in for an oil change.
Every 20,000 Miles
At 20,000 miles, or about two years, there are a few baseline services to focus on. This includes inspections of the front and rear axle fluid and brake linings, replacing the cabin air filter, and adjusting the parking brake. You should also inspect the front and rear suspension, and your tie rod ends. These services can be repeated every 20,000 miles.
30,000 Miles
Once your Jeep 4xe vehicle reaches 30,000 miles, which usually happens around the three-year mark, you can focus on some different services. At this point, you should bring your car in for services such as an inspection of the transfer case fluid, and a replacement of the engine air filter. Unlike the services we mentioned above, these will likely not need to be repeated until the 90,000-mile mark.
60,000 Miles
At about 60,000 miles, you’ll want to repeat the services of the 20,000-mile appointment, with some additions. These services include inspections of the suspension, tie rod ends, front and rear axle fluid, and brake linings. You should also replace the cabin air filter, and replace the spark plugs on the 2.0-liter engine found on Jeep 4xe vehicles. Other services include replacing the engine air filter, changing the transer case fluid, and changing the manual transmission fluid if you drive under extreme conditions.
80,000 Miles
At 80,000 miles, you can go ahead and repeat the services we described above in the 40,000-mile maintenance appointment. Then, jumping ahead another 10,000 miles, you should have your transfer case fluid inspected, your engine air filter replaced, and your transmission fluid changed. If you do lots of off-roading or frequent trailering, have your front and rear axle fluid changed at this point as well.
