Jeep has announced the new Gladiator Mojave, the first Jeep model to carry the new Desert Rated badge represents the ultimate in high-speed off-road ability and performance in desert and sand environments! The Jeep Gladiator, already unmatched in the pickup segment for its off-road capability, the Mojave model adds a whole new level of capability in an otherwise grueling environment.

JEEP DESERT RATED BADGE

All-new for Jeep is the Desert Rated Badge, the first of its kind and an extension of Jeep’s legendary Trail Rated designation. Vehicles with this badge represent the ultimate in high-speed, off-road capability and performance in sand and desert environments. Every 4x4 Jeep vehicle with the Desert Rated badge is developed against a series of tests in five categories, including ride control and stability, ground clearance, traction, maneuverability, and desert prowess which means the Mojave is tested and proven to withstand intense heat, loose gravel, intrusive dust, and coarse sand.

THE 2020 JEEP GLADIATOR MOJAVE

Capability
The Mojave editions capability is the proven Command-Trac 4x4 system from the Gladiator lineup, which features a 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio with a two-speed transfer case and a heavy-duty third-generation Dana 44 front and rear axles with a standard electronic locking rear differential and 4.10: 1 axle ratio. This system is used for higher 4LO operating speeds, making the Mojave able to climb sand dunes and other desert events. With a best in class approach angle of 44.7 degrees and break over angle of 20.9 degrees, the Gladiator Mojave also features a departure angle of 25.5 degrees and a ground clearance of 11.6 inches. More capability features include Jeep Performance Parts step sand slider side rails, best-in-class articulation, up to 1,200 pounds of payload, silver front skid plate, and up to 6,000 pounds of towing capacity.

Suspension and Shocks
The Gladiator Mojave is equipped with specially-tuned, high-performance FOX 2.5-inch internal bypass shocks that maximize comfort, handling, and bottom-out resistance. These shocks also contain internal passages to allow fluid to bypass the piston through regulated ports as it progresses through the suspension. As a result, the Mojave has a predictable ride over standard off-road conditions with the ability to ramp up damping force. To prevent the shock fade during long runs through hot desert sands at high speed, the Mojave features front and rear external shock reservoirs and a military-grade suspension fluid to maintain performance. FOX front hydraulic jounce bumpers are an industry-first and act as a secondary pair of shocks to soften impacts and increase damping performance. These bumpers also provide bottom-out control on harsh desert terrain and a comfortable ride overall variety of road travel. The Mojave also provides a half-inch increase in the track for additional stability with a reinforced frame and axle for harsh terrains. The one-inch front suspension lift is suitable for jounce travel, and the standard 33-Falken Wildpeak All-terrain tires or optional Falken WIldpeak Mud-terrain tires make this pickup well suited for any driving condition.

Powertrain
The Gladiator comes with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine with engine stop-start technology, which pumps out 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission with the option of an eight-speed automatic transmission for easy travel over any obstacle. The engine is engineered for a broad torque band with a focus on low-end torque. This is essential for extreme off-roading, hauling cargo, or towing a trailer.

Exclusive Features
The Mojave includes a variety of features, including upgraded seats with leather or cloth with orange accent stitching and the Mojave logos. Buyers can choose between a Black or Steel Gray interior with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and an aggressive rim section for extra grip. The Mojave is also equipped with a heavy-duty performance hood with center scoop and unique hood decal, orange tow hooks, exterior badges, and 17x7.5-inch wheels. A forward-facing off-road camera is also available to allow added visibility for identifying desert obstacles.
