Jeep Wrangler vs Ford Bronco

For the longest time, the Jeep Wrangler has dominated the off-road SUV would with multiple powerful engines and an eclectic mix of off-road centric features. This year, the Wrangler adds a new diesel engine to its lineup and provides drivers with an incredible 442 lb-ft of torque, which allows the Wrangler to go over anything the world throws at it. Of course, the Wrangler isn't without competition as Ford has unveiled a new version of their iconic Bronco. The Bronco roars onto the scene with a couple of terrific engines and a wonderful mix of features that are sure to appeal to fans of off-roading. While both of these SUVs are amazing, only one can come out on top. Continue readings to find out which one comes out on top!

2020 Jeep Wrangler Power & Handling

Once again, the Wrangler comes out strong with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that pumps out an impressive 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque and connects to either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission. Optional is either a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque or a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel with 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. Both of these engines are available with the eight-speed automatic. The best part of the Jeep Wrangler is the number of four-wheel-drive systems it has, including a sophisticated one for the Rubicon trim.

2021 Ford Bronco Power & Handling

There are a few engine options available for the all-new Ford Bronco. Starting things off is a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder that makes 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. If you want some additional power for your Bronco, there is an optional twin-turbo 2.7-liter V6 that pumps out 310 horses and 400 lb-ft of torque. You can get the turbocharged four-cylinder with either a manual or automatic transmission, while the V6 is available with automatic transmission only. Unlike the Wrangler, the Bronco does not have a diesel option, which limits its torque severely. We also wish there were more four-wheel-drive systems available.

2020 Jeep Wrangler Features & Design

The Wrangler comes with three primary trims, a few sub-trims, and three special editions, so you're not spoiled for choice when it comes to features. Kicking things off is the Sport which comes with 17-inch steel wheels, skid plates, and tow hooks. You also get foglights and removable metal doors and a 5-inch touchscreen with a rearview camera. Sport S versions add onto this with air conditioning, automatic headlights, power windows and locks, and more. More luxury and off-road features are available with higher trims such as leather upholstery, a full-time four-wheel-drive system, and arear window washer and defroster. More off-road features include special tires, heavy-duty axles with shorter gearing, and 4.0-to-1 low-range gearing. Rubicon versions add an electronically disconnecting front stabilizer bar, and rock rails. This year the Wrangler comes with three special editions the Black and Tan, the Willy's, and the Freedom. These wonderful additions come with features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, beefier brakes, 32-inch all-terrain tires, and unique graphics and styling.

2021 Ford Bronco Features & Design

Ford gives the Bronco several outdoor elements which are tailored to bringing you a superior off-road experience. No matter the trim, the Bronco comes with removable doors and roof. There is also an available Sasquatch package that has 35-inch tires with 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels, front- and rear locking differentials, and Trail Control. Inside the cabin, the Bronco has plenty of space for both drivers and passengers, thanks primarily to a 60/40 split-fold second-row seat that can fold down if needed. Also available are leather-trimmed, durable cloth, and marine-grade vinyl seating, which are comfortable and clean very easily. Finally, the Bronco comes with a built-in instrument panel that comes with gauges and dials that are smart and easy to use, and include the latest Sync system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Conclusion:

While we feel that there is nowhere to go but up for the Ford Bronco, we are going to give the victory to the Jeep Wrangler. The Wrangler comes with more powerful engines, including a diesel option and the numerous trims, and several special editions add all the features you could want.
