EV Charging Across the US
Unveiled in Moab, UT, 2021, as part of the Easter Jeep Safari, Jeep announced a partnership with Electrify America creating the Jeep 4xe Charging Network. Initially, Jeep-branded charging stations will be installed in specific locations around the country allowing owners to take full advantage of their electrified Jeep SUV.
Where will the charging stations locations be?
The Jeep 4xe (pronounced "four-by-e") Charging Network consists of EV Level 2 charging stations located at Jeep Badge of Honor off-road trailheads. Moab, Rubicon Trail, and Big Bear, the three foremost iconic Jeep vehicle trails, will get the first 4xe charging stations this spring. Additional Jeep 4xe Charging Stations will be operational around the country by December, 2021.
Exactly who is Electrify America?
Electrify America is currently the largest DC fast-charging network in the country. They plan to invest $2 billion in Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) charging stations. Electrify America expects to install, or have under development, almost 800 total charging stations by December 2021. During this period, the company will be expanding to almost 30 metro areas.
I addition to roadside charging, Electrify America’s Home program offers home charging solutions for homeowners. For commercial clients, Electrify Commercial provides charging solutions for businesses.
How long does it take to charge a BEV?
The Electrify America Jeep 4xe trailhead chargers will deliver Level 2 charging. This allows the 17 kilowatt-hour battery pack in the 4xe to be fully recharged in just under two hours. Recharge times will be shorter for Wrangler 4xe owners looking to just top off a partially charged battery pack.
