Trim Levels of the 2018 Wrangler Unlimited

The Wrangler line exploded in options and new builds for the 2018 model year, from the classic Wrangler JK to the all new Wrangler JL; hard tops, soft tops, and power-retractable tops; and, of course, two-door or four-door builds.  These four-door Unlimited models enhance your interior roominess, cargo capacity, and ease of entry to keep you and your passengers well equipped and comfortable for whatever journey you plan. All are Trail Rated and more capable than ever, with Jeep’s famous name brand durability and off-roading systems fine-tuned and ready to go.  Four-door 2018 Wranglers are offered in four trim types of the same name for both the JK and JL; here we review the details of these four configurations so you know the model that best suits your spirit for adventure!

Sport

Universal throughout the Wrangler line is the 280 horsepower, 260 lb-ft of torque thanks to a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, capable of taking on the tough trails with confidence.  Paired to this engine within the JK is a standard six-speed manual transmission, although a five-speed automatic is available for your choosing as well. The JL instead offers an eight-speed automatic transmission to be more better suited on the road compared to the off-road specialized JKs, and there’s availability of one other more fuel efficient powertrain to choose from: the 2.0-liter turbo inline four-cylinder semi hybrid eTorque engine.  The JL also supplies standard Engine Stop-Start to further conserve on fuel. Both JK and JL perform so well off-road thanks to Jeep’s specialized Command-Trac 4x4 capabilities, giving specific performance tuning depending on the drive mode selected. There’s Auto, Snow, Sand, Mud, and Rock to choose from to best suit the road ahead of you. Skid plates provide protection to important underbody mechanics to ensure you keep on moving forward safely.  Two front and one rear tow hook are standard throughout the trim models, as well. Other standard features include removable doors and a fold-down windshield, cruise control, height-adjustable driver’s seat, waterproof premium cloth upholstery, air conditioning, and an eight-speaker sound system. The JL ups the technological aspects of the Wrangler to include keyless entry, and a five-inch Uconnect touchscreen display that offers Bluetooth, a standard rearview camera, and USB/AUX jacks.  The JK starts at $27,895 while the JL is priced $31,445.

Sport S

The Sport S provides the amenities of the Power Convenience Group standard and provides the Cold Weather Package as a new optional features upgrade for both JK and JL.  These standards include power one-touch windows and speed sensitive locks, universal keyless entry, heated power exterior mirrors, a security alarm, as well as tinted windows and auto-dimming rearview mirrors.  Leather wrapped steering wheel and gearshift knob ups the luxury of the interior. Wheels upgrade from steel to 17-inch aluminum alloys wheels. The optional All Weather Group supplies both with heated and ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, windshield and rear window defroster, and rear window wiper/washer.  The JK starts at $31,095, and the JL starts at $34,645.

Sahara

The Sahara is four-door specific, meaning you won’t find these sets of features available within a two-door build.  18-inch alloy wheels are added on, and exterior looks are further enhanced with painted exterior body panels and trim, plus automatic LED headlights and foglights.  For the enjoyment of the drive, Jeep has added hood insulation to reduce noise on the road, and a convenience enhancement includes a 115-volt three prong power outlet within the trunk space to charge larger equipment on the go. Leather upholstery is available for your choosing for an enhancement of looks and comfort.  The JL gains automatic climate control and a larger touchscreen media center, now seven-inches wide. If you’d like the same in the JK, the Sahara offers an optional Popular Technology Package that includes a 6.5-inch touchscreen media center with SiriusXM, USB, Uconnect with Bluetooth, and GPS navigation. This starts at $34,245 for the JK and $38,295 for the JL.

Rubicon

Top of the line, the Rubicon adds enhanced performance systems and internal luxury to make this a comfortable ride no matter the terrain you want to take this Wrangler through.  Starting at $37,445 for a JK or $41,445 for a JL, the Rubicon gains a heavy-duty front axle, shorter 4.10 axle gearing, an extra-low crawl ratio, electronic front and rear differentials, an electronically disconnecting front anti-roll bar, plus front rock rails.  A premium entertainment package features an upgraded nine-speaker Alpine audio system. The Popular Technology Package is still available for addition within the JK. The JL, too, offers upgrades its infotainment center to provide an 8.4-inch touchscreen with additional SiriusXM, HD radio, and navigation.

Each Unlimited offers enhanced systems and interior comfort to allow you to travel further in maximum off-roading style.  The Wranglers are the epitome of an all-terrain funhouse, now bridging to suit the roads around the neighborhood too.
