What's New for the 2023 Jeep Renegade?
There is a wide array of new features available for the 2023 Jeep Renegade. First is the Elite Group, available for the Limited and Trailhawk trims. The Elite Group adds front/rear parking sensors, parallel/perpendicular park assist, automatic high beam assist, and full LED exterior lighting to the Limited trim. For the Trailhawk, the Elite Group adds leather-trimmed seating and an 8-way power driver’s seat on top of the features for the Limited Elite Group. The Renegade Limited is also available with the High Altitude Package, which adds Neutral Grey grill rings, Granite Crystal painted 19-inch alloy wheels, and Gloss Black badging. The Premium Group is available for the Latitude trim, adding roof rails, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, cornering fog lights, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Also new for 2023 is standard adaptive cruise control for the Limited trim and the Detonator Yellow exterior paint option.
What engine powers the 2023 Jeep Renegade?
The 1.3-liter MultiAir turbocharged inline-4 engine returns under the hood of the 2023 Renegade to provide the perfect blend of efficiency and power. The turbocharged engine gives drivers 210 lb-ft of torque alongside 177 horsepower. This power is sent to the wheels by a smooth-shifting nine-speed automatic transmission. While Active Drive 4x4 was previously available for the Renegade, it now comes standard, beginning at the base-level Latitude trim. Active Drive is an intuitive 4x4 system that continuously senses road conditions and makes the necessary adjustments without any driver input. Using a Power Transfer Unit and disconnecting rear axle, Active Drive runs in two-wheel drive on ideal road conditions and will automatically shift into four-wheel drive when the vehicle encounters inclement weather and road conditions. The Renegade Trailhawk uses Active Drive Low, which adds the available 4-Low mode to provide better low-speed off-road crawling control.
Safety Features for the 2023 Jeep Renegade
Of course, Jeep is known for having great off-road chops. However, safety is still a primary concern. The safety of the Jeep Renegade begins from within, with six standard airbags protecting all occupants and a frame made of high-strength steel manufactured to protect occupants in the event of a collision by diverting impact energy away from the cabin. However, Jeep knows that the best collision is one that is completely avoided. That’s why the Renegade is equipped with more than 70 standard and available driver assistance technologies. All Renegade trim levels include lane departure warning, blindspot monitoring, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, rear cross-path warning, and more. Meanwhile, rain-sensing wiper blades, parallel/perpendicular park assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, front/rear park assist, and more can be added to any Renegade trim level.
